The German residence permit is a highly secured ID document that includes, among others, an Identigram®, a changeable laser image (CLI) and an optically variable stripe on the back. The card is made of polycarbonate and includes Innosec® fusion, a colour personalisation technology (holder’s picture) and laser engraving. Multiple colours of UV ink are used on the front and back of the card, which was first issued on November 1, 2019.
