[INFOGRAPHIC] New in Documentchecker: Great Britain’s New 20 Banknote

The GBP 20 (pound) note is the Bank of England’s third banknote of the new polymer series. It was issued on 20 February 2020 and will be circulated alongside the existing 20 pounds note until further notice from the Bank of England. The new banknote features artist JMW Turner on the back of the note.

For this most used and forged denomination of the GBP banknote series, the Bank of England advises users to focus on two key security features. The first is the hologram image change: the words change between ‘twenty’ and ‘pounds’ when the note is tilted. The second is the metallic image in the large transparent window: the foil is blue and gold on the front of the note and silver on the back.
